Georgetown Getaway

With a beautiful weekend ahead of us, we decided to go for a long drive on Saturday. We decided to head up to Georgetown California and just take in the beautiful fall colors, and maybe a quick bite to eat. I had never been there before, and the drive was just beautiful. We stayed off the highway, and winded our way up the hill via back roads. It was just a perfect drive. We had the top down on the car, took in the cool fall air, and got to see the beauty that is Northern California.

We popped into Frog Pond Antiques & Gifts, and rifled through so much cute stuff. We were transported back in time, to simpler times, with all of the unique items that we saw. We bought a couple of things, and then headed to walk around. A quick walk it was, but such a cute, cozy little town. We then popped over to the Georgetown Hotel & Saloon. We decided to try a few appetizers, so ordered the chicken strips and the bacon cheeseburger sliders. It was perfect bar food. The local server gave us a little run down of the town, the bar and history of the hotel. Definitely a cool place to grab a bite, or a drink, and mingle with the locals. It was a beautiful drive, not too far from home, and it gave me a chance to visit some place I have never been before. David and I already talked about maybe checking out one of the concerts at the Georgetown Saloon and staying the night in the hotel. Who know. Maybe you'll see another post about this quaint little spot, in the not so distant future.

About Me

I love to be out and about, doing things with my husband. We love to travel, and my hobby of photography fits right in.  Hawaii is my favorite place to visit (so far), but anywhere where there is a beach and a cocktail in my hand, I am a happy girl.
